Novartis Consumer Health Australiasia files application with Australia New Zealand Food Authority for regulatory approval of products enriched with Reducol plant sterols, known as Phytrol in U.S. ANZFA banned sale of all yogurt, milk, cereal bar and mayonnaise products containing plant sterols in Australia and New Zealand effective June 16 due to lack of scientific evidence; only margarine products are approved for sale. Once affected products have been withdrawn, Unilever's Pro-activ and Goodman Fielder's Logicol spreads will be only phytosterol-containing products still available to consumers
