Executive Summary
Oral administration of American ginseng extract improves endothelial function in subjects with type 2 diabetes, Zenith Xu, University of Toronto, et al., determine in double-blind, placebo-controlled, crossover trial. Twenty-four type 2 diabetic subjects consumed either 2.25 g of Chai-Na-Ta's ginseng extract or placebo for eight weeks. Effects of ginseng on endothelial function were evaluated by measuring serum nitric oxide compounds, which were found to increase slightly (6.67+/-2.97 mmol/L) with ginseng treatment
