Disappointing sales in those countries, coupled with unfavorable currency fluctuations, resulted in 14% decline in fourth quarter retail sales to $423.3 mil. and flat sales for 2000 at $1.76 bil. Firm says it is working successfully with large number of suppliers to increase operating flexibility; Herbalife was sued by Global Health Sciences in December for allegedly reneging on oral agreement by forming new supplier contracts with alternative manufacturers (1"The Tan Sheet" Jan. 22, p. 13)
