Quaker Oatmeal Nutrition for Women

This article was originally published in The Tan Sheet

Executive Summary

The first hot cereal "specially formulated with a woman's unique nutritional needs in mind" is being tested now in the Northeast. The instant cereal is fortified with calcium, soy protein, iron, folic acid and vitamins A, B, D and E. A box of eight single-serving packets retails for about $3.29. Quaker is supporting the test launch with a print campaign targeting active women over 35. A two-page ad stating, "You can give birth. You deserve your own oatmeal," appears in the October issue of Good Housekeeping. An FSI also dropped Sept. 10, and Quaker will provide free samples at women's health events including walks against breast cancer in October in New York and Boston. The ad agency is Foote, Cone & Belding of Chicago
