Executive Summary
Dietary supplements to be a key focus of a survey planned for 2001 by CFSAN and FDA's Consumer Studies Branch. Since recent focus groups have shown consumers are confused by the lack of structure/function and health claims on many supplements, the questionnaire will examine consumer use of supplements and response to label information, FDA statistician Brenda Derby tells SRI conference Sept. 13. The survey will be cleared through the Office of Management & Budget and published in the Federal Register for public comment by the beginning of next year
