Executive Summary
International Bioscience Corp. will spend up to $10 mil. to test the safety and efficacy of its microbicidal contraceptive gel in preventing the transmission of STDs, including HIV. Phase III trials are expected to begin in the next four months in Brazil. IBC and Empyrean Bioscience are forming a joint venture to manufacture and market products using formulas licensed from IBC. Empyrean, which sells Preventx Hand Sanitizer & Antiseptic Skin Protectant, will license the brand's trademarks and logos to IBC and the joint venture.
