Former chairman James Burke was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom at a White House ceremony Aug. 9. The medal is due, in part, to his role in responding to the 1982 tampering of several Tylenol products with cyanide, which the White House notes helped "restore consumer confidence in over-the-counter medications"
