Executive Summary
Required labeling statement on cosmetic products containing alpha hydroxy acids reinforcing the importance of sunscreen use proposed by CTFA in a recent citizen petition to FDA. The group suggests cosmetics containing AHA, with or without a sunscreen ingredient, be required to carry the statement, "Sun Alert: Because this product may make your skin more sensitive to the sun, be certain you have adequate sunscreen protection while using this product and for a week after you discontinue use."
