Executive Summary
Company agrees to purchase Worldwide Sport Nutritional Supplements for $71.5 mil. cash. Worldwide, a privately held sports nutritionals firm that markets the Pure Protein line of bars and drinks, posted net sales of approximately $42 mil. in fiscal 1999. The acquisition is expected to close in March and will be slightly accretive in FY 2000. The deal builds upon Boca Raton, Fla.-based Rexall's growing foothold in the sports nutritionals category.
