BASF's purchase of SunSmart's Z-COTE transparent zinc oxide formulation line provides the company with its first UVA sunscreen ingredient. The deal, which closed Nov. 30, includes Z-COTE microfine zinc oxide and Z-COTE HP1, a dimethicone hydrophobic coated form of the original.
