Executive Summary

Susan Trimbo, PhD, joins General Nutrition from Whitehall-Robins, where she was senior director of nutritional sciences. Trimbo's responsibilities at Whitehall included the Centrum and Caltrate supplement brands and new product activities, including the recently introduced Centrum Herbals line. At GNC, Trimbo will help direct new product development efforts, including identifying new ingredients and new products that could be brought into the GNC system. As part of that effort, she will be in contact with GNC's new parent company, Royal Numico, which has assigned a portion of its research group in Holland to support dietary supplements. Trimbo succeeds John Troup, who became head of nutrition R&D worldwide at Novartis Consumer Health in January
