Executive Summary

Agency to receive $1.18 bil. in FY 2000 under the Agriculture/FDA appropriations bill approved by the Senate by a 74-26 vote Oct. 13. The House passed the measure (HR 1906) Oct. 1. President Clinton has said he will sign the legislation. The funding marks a $69 mil. increase over the agency's fiscal year 1999 budget, but is well below the President's request of $1.35 bil. CDER will receive $309 mil.; the Administration had requested $316 mil. for the drugs center. CFSAN and related field activities will get $269.2 mil.
