Executive Summary
House approves the fiscal 2000 Agriculture/FDA appropriations conference report Oct. 1. The measure sets FDA's funding at approximately $1.19 bil., $83 mil. above the FY 1999 level, but $69 mil. below the President's request. The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants & Children would receive $4.03 bil. under the bill, an increase of $108 mil. over FY 1999 but $73 mil. less than the President's proposal
