Executive Summary
House and Senate conferees approve $35 mil. for construction of a 100,000 sq. ft. CDER laboratory facility at the former White Oak Naval Surface Warfare Center in Montgomery County, Md. The funding was approved as part of the FY 2000 Treasury, Postal Service & General Government Appropriations bill passed by conference committee Sept. 9. Funding for the project matches that of the original Senate bill, but is less than the $56 mil. included in the President's budget proposal (1"The Tan Sheet" Feb. 8, p. 16). The House markup of appropriations for the Federal Building Fund did not include any funding for the White Oak consolidation
