House Government Reform Committee oversight hearing tentatively scheduled for March 25 at 10 a.m. Committee Chair Dan Burton (R-Ind.) will address FDA's proposed rule on structure/function claims, the agency's new "disease claim" definition and possibly the recent federal appeals court decision regarding FDA's "significant scientific agreement" standard and health claims in supplement labeling ("The Tan Sheet" Jan. 25, p. 3).
