Executive Summary
National Advertising Review Board of the Council of Better Business Bureaus affirms the National Advertising Division's conclusion that Forever Young Again Products should discontinue certain advertising claims made for the Fat Absorb supplement, CBBB announces Dec. 1. The claims, made in a 30-minute infomercial, include "Fat Absorb absorbs dietary fat before it is digested, which allows you to lose weight without changing your diet or exercising" and "is scientifically proven to lower cholesterol and triglycerides." NAD and NARB concur the company has a "lack of reliable scientific evidence to support these extraordinary claims." The Electronic Retailing Association brought the claims before NAD for review ("The Tan Sheet" July 27, p. 8)
