The Uri-Test Protein in Urine Test home screening test will be shipped in "late 1998 or early 1999," Pompano Beach, Fla.-based Technical Chemicals & Products, Inc. says. The test checks for protein in urine samples, which can be a sign of injury or disease of the kidney, bladder or renal system. Clinical data show the test can detect 15 mg/dL of protein in urine. A box of three screening tests will retail for $9.99
