Executive Summary
Any changes in formulation or directions for use of consumer products subject to the Environmental Protection Agency's volatile organic compounds final rule must be declared in writing to the agency within the first 30 days after the change is instituted, EPA clarified during a satellite broadcast Oct. 15. Companies that develop new data codes to indicate the day, month and year of manufacture on product packaging similarly must submit the new codes to the agency within 30 of first use. The reg, which takes effect Dec. 10, limits the VOC content of seven personal care categories, including underarm antiperspirants and deodorants ("The Tan Sheet" Aug. 24, p. 9)
