FDA COMMISSIONER CONFIRMATION VOTE BY SENATE LABOR COMMITTEE is not expected to take place before the week of Sept. 14 following the confirmation hearing for University of New Mexico VP-Health Sciences Jane Henney, MD, on Sept. 2. Senate Labor & Human Resources Committee Chairman James Jeffords (R-Vt.) will gather follow-up questions from members by Sept. 8 and forward them to Henney for responses. Henney has already replied to a 140-item pre-hearing questionnaire from Jeffords as well as separate questions on dietary supplement issues from Sen.
