Senate questions to Henney attempt to "tie hands" of nominee, Consumer Federation says.

SENATE QUESTIONS FOR COMMISSIONER-NOMINEE HENNEY INDUSTRY MOTIVATED, Consumer Federation of America Legislative Director Mary Rouleau declared at an Aug. 17 FDA "stakeholders" meeting to discuss the agency's obligations under the FDA Modernization Act. Questions posed by the Senate Labor & Human Resources Committee to FDA Commissioner-nominee Jane Henney, MD, prior to her Sept. 2 confirmation hearing represent an "unprecedented effort to tie the hands of the commissioner in advance of proper study of the issues," Rouleau said.
