LEINER HERBAL PRODUCT REVENUES PACE 30% NET SALES JUMP to $122.3 mil. in the fiscal first quarter ended June 30, the dietary supplement marketer reported in a teleconference with securities analysts Aug. 10. Revenues for the company's herbal line rose 157% to $22.2 mil. from $8.6 mil. in the prior-year period, Leiner Health Products CEO Robert Kaminski said. In contrast, he noted total herbal category sales were up 87% for the 13 weeks ended June 28, according to data from Chicago-based Information Resources, Inc. for food, drug and mass merchandise outlets. Leiner private-label herbal sales jumped 122%, "more than 40% faster than the total market," Kaminski added.
