ANTISEPTIC PRODUCT TWO-TIER RISK METHOD SUGGESTED by Elaine Larson, Georgetown University School of Nursing, to FDA's Nonprescription Drugs Advisory Committee at a meeting in Bethesda, Md. July 29 where the committee considered effectiveness testing for final antiseptic hand wash formulations. Speaking as a guest, Larson said the 1994 tentative final monograph for health care antiseptic products' categorization of antiseptic products by product user, such as health care, food handler or consumer, should be changed to categorization by the risk of contamination.
