WHO MEDICINAL PLANT MONOGRAPHS FIRST VOLUME PUBLICATION is anticipated by the end of 1998. Although the monographs have been in final form for some time, administrative issues at the World Health Organization have caused a delay in the publication of the initial volume, which provides details relating to quality assurance and pharmacology for 28 different botanicals, including aloe and aloe vera gel, astragalus, chamomile, echinacea, ephedra, ginkgo, ginseng, senna and valerian ("The Tan Sheet" March 9, In Brief).
