Sixty-two moderately overweight subjects taking 400 mcg chromium picolinate lost 6.2 lbs. of fat compared to 3.4 lbs. of fat in the group of 60 subjects on placebo over a 90-day period, Gilbert Kaats, PhD, Health and Medical Research Foundation, San Antonio, et al., conclude in a study published in the June issue of Current Therapeutic Research. "This study replicated earlier findings that supplementation with chromium picolinate can lead to significant improvements in body composition," the researchers says.
