Executive Summary
The Institute of Medicine Food & Nutrition Board Panel on Dietary Antioxidants and Related Compounds will meet July 28-29 to discuss a definition for antioxidants, which antioxidants should have Dietary Reference Intakes and what those DRIs should be. The group discussed similar issues at a previous meeting ("The Tan Sheet" March 2, p. 18). At the upcoming workshop, experts will deliver testimony on information relevant to antioxidant biomarkers. Individuals interested in making brief presentations should contact FNB at (202) 334-1312. The meeting will be held at the National Academy of Sciences, 2101 Constitution Avenue, NW, Washington, D.C.
