PRIVATE LABEL SLEEPING REMEDIES ATTAIN ONE-THIRD MARKET SHARE in mass merchandise outlets for the 52 weeks ended Jan. 4, according to the Private Label Manufacturers Association's "1998 Private Label Yearbook." The product's dollar share increased by 3.91 percentage points to 33.3%, while unit share was up 4.58 points to 48.6%. Preliminary data from the PLMA report were released in April ("The Tan Sheet" April 13, p. 9). The report is based on data Chicago-based Information Resources, Inc. obtained from food, drug and mass merchandise outlets.
