General Nutrition Companies will begin selling 400 mcg tablets of methyltetrahydrofolate (5-MTHF) in September or October. The product, a refined version of folic acid, will not make any specific structure/function claims, although labeling will state 5-MTHF has greater bioavailability than traditional folate (vitamin B12). The new GNC supplement will be sold as a stand- alone product in 30-count tablets.
