FDA DENTAL PLAQUE SUBCOMMITTEE ADDING FIVE INGREDIENTS/COMBOS TO MAY AGENDA on the first day of a three-day meeting set for May 27-29. The group is slated to discuss the safety and effectiveness of the combination of stannous pyrophosphate and zinc citrate, and the effectiveness of the combo of hydrogen peroxide, sodium lauryl sulfate, sodium citrate and zinc chloride. Additionally, the subcommittee is set to review the safety and effectiveness in dental products of hexetidine, soluble pyrophosphate, nonsaponifiable fraction of corn oil, bromchlorophene and chlorhexidine digluconate, FDA announced in the May 4 Federal Register.
