Executive Summary
"CARDIOHEALTH," "HEART TABS" ACCEPTABLE AS SUPPLEMENT NAMES, FDA suggests in a proposed rule published April 29. However, names that convey disease claims, such as "Carpaltum" (carpal tunnel syndrome), "Raynaudin" (Raynaud's phenomenon) and "Heptacure" (liver problems), would not be acceptable, according to the proposal, which sets out to distinguish between dietary supplement structure/function claims and disease claims that would cause products to be regulated as drugs.
