INFANT FORMULA MARKETERS VIOLATING WORLD HEALTH ORGANIZATION CODE, a new study alleges, by distributing free formula samples to pregnant women, mothers with infants and health centers. The international study, by Anna Taylor, Interagency Group on Breastfeeding Monitoring, does not name specific companies but reports 21 firms distributed infant formula in one of the four countries investigated, and six distributed infant formula in more than one country at the time of the study. The study is published in the April 11 British Medical Journal.
