Executive Summary
OTC LABEL ACTUAL USE "MORE IMPORTANT" THAN CONSUMER PREFERENCE in evaluating appropriate format and contents of labeling, the Nonprescription Drug Manufacturers Association says in Feb. 13 comments to FDA. The comments address results of the agency's OTC Label Format Preference, "Study B," which were posted on FDA's Web site in late December and are expected to be factored into the agency's final rule on OTC labeling. FDA published a proposed rule on OTC label reform nearly a year ago ("The Tan Sheet" March 3, 1997, pp. 1-9).
