The Mountain View, Calif.-based consultants predict the dietary supplement industry will expand at a compound annual rate of 9.3% from $5.3 bil. in 1996 to $5.8 bil. for 1997, before hitting $9.9 bil. in 2003. Homeopathics, herbal remedies and vitamins and minerals will generate sales of $703 mil., $2.2 bil. and $7 bil., respectively, in 2003, Frost & Sullivan forecasts.
