Internet international domain registration should be company priority, attorney says.

This article was originally published in The Tan Sheet

Executive Summary

INTERNET INTERNATIONAL DOMAIN NAME REGISTRATION SHOULD BE PRIORITY of companies to protect the strength of trademarks for future business in markets abroad, attorney Daphne Sheridan Bass recommended Oct. 16 while speaking to an independent cosmetics industry group. The former Giorgio Beverly Hills general counsel, now in private practice, cautioned that the risk of counterfeiting on the Internet is significant in overseas markets, so "if you have an international business, and you have a domain name, I urge you to get it registered."
