ANTIGINGIVITIS AGENT-SPECIFIC PERFORMANCE STANDARDS PREFERABLE to final formulation testing by pharmacological class, Max Listgarten, DDS, University of Pennsylvania, commented at an Oct. 30 meeting of the Nonprescription Drugs Advisory Committee's Dental Plaque Subcommittee in Gaithersburg, Md. The meeting was another in the subcommittee's ongoing efforts to review ingredients for inclusion in an OTC monograph for antigingivitis/antiplaque products. The subcommittee discussed, among other things, development of appropriate performance standards for final formulations of antigingivitis products.
