Executive Summary
NUTRAMAX FOURTH QUARTER PRODUCTION, DISTRIBUTION PROBLEMS are expected to result in a net loss of $933,000 to $1 mil. for the three months ended Sept. 27, the Gloucester, Mass.-based company said Oct. 14. By comparison, NutraMax reported net income of $1.7 mil. in the fourth quarter of 1996. The company explained that "start-up problems" delayed completion of a "major capital expansion" program in the private labeler's largest division, which manufactures cough/cold products. As a result, nearly $4.6 mil. of incremental unshipped orders had accumulated by the end of the quarter.
