HEALTH CLAIM AUTHORIZATION BASED ON FIVE-LEVEL "ANALYTICAL CONSTRUCT" SUGGESTED as replacement for FDA's "blanket ban" on unapproved dietary supplement health claims by a group of 11 joint commenters. Submitted to the President's Commission on Dietary Supplement Labels July 29, the comments are in response to the draft report issued by the commission June 24 ("The Tan Sheet" June 30, pp. 17-25). The commenters request that the commission "adopt in lieu of its current recommendations on health claims" the five-part format proposed by the group.
