IVC ENTERING RETAIL, MAIL-ORDER BUSINESS WITH ACQUISITION of HealthRite's Vitamin Specialties retail division under a recent agreement between the two companies. Freehold, N.J.-based IVC will pay approximately $3 mil. for the 15-store retail chain located in eastern Pennsylvania and southern New Jersey. In addition to its in-store retail activities, Vitamin Specialties sells its products through mail-order catalogs distributed to customers. The deal is expected to be final by the close of IVC's fourth quarter (ending July 31).
