UNIPATH OTC BIRTH CONTROL SYSTEM IN DEVELOPMENT with the initiation of clinical trials in seven U.S. cities. Enrollment of a planned 1,200 couples into the research program began June 5. The system is based on a hormone analysis technology similar to that in the company's Clearblue Easy home pregnancy test and Clearplan Easy home ovulation test. However, the birth control system differs from ovulation tests in that it enables women to identify their entire fertile phase and not just peak fertility, according to Unipath Diagnostics.
