Executive Summary
OTC SPERMICIDES WITH NONOXYNOL-9 DOSES BELOW 100 MG MAY BE "SAFEST CHOICE" for consumers, Columbia Labs states in March 3 comments to FDA. Due to the possible link between vaginal irritation caused by nonoxynol-9 and the spread of sexually transmitted diseases, the company said it believes "it would be a grave error to eliminate from the monograph nonoxynol-9 products with doses lower than 100 mg, because those products, if effective, may represent the safest choice for consumers."
