GNC L-CARNITINE/CO-ENZYME Q-10 PATENT INFRINGEMENT ALLEGED BY SIGMA-TAU in a suit filed Feb. 28 in Wilmington, Del. federal court. Rome, Italy-based Sigma-Tau charges that General Nutrition Corp.'s sale of products containing L-carnitine and coenzyme Q-10 infringes patent #4,599,232 issued to Sigma-Tau on July 8, 1986. Sigma-Tau's claim is based on the "unauthorized, infringing manufacture, use, sale, and/or offer for sale by defendant of compositions containing L-carnitine and coenzyme Q-10," the suit maintains.
