COMMISSIONER KESSLER's NEW HAVEN? YALE MEDICAL SCHOOL DEAN SHORT LIST is said to include outgoing FDA Commissioner David Kessler as one of two outside candidates for the job. Kessler is understood to have visited the Yale campus in New Haven, Conn. Jan. 16 and 17. He announced his intention to resign from the agency upon naming of a successor in November, and speculation in Washington has been that he would depart by early February ("The Tan Sheet" Dec. 2, 1996, p. 7).
