EPA ABANDONMENT OF ADDED CHEMICAL USE REPORTING RECOMMENDED BY NDMA in Dec. 20 comments submitted to the Environmental Protection Agency. The Nonprescription Drug Manufacturers Association maintains that reporting of data beyond what is already available in the Toxic Release Inventory (TRI) database -- information collected under the Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act (EPCRA) and the Pollution Prevention Act (PPA) -- would "confuse, not educate, communities and workers." The NDMA comments respond to an Oct. 1 EPA advance notice of proposed rulemaking.
