Twinlab/GNC: Announce national distribution agreement for sale of Twinlab products in General Nutrition Center's more than 3,000 outlets. Under the agreement, announced Dec. 18, GNC will purchase a minimum of $40 mil. of Ronkonkoma, N.Y.-based Twinlab's vitamins and minerals, its sport nutrition line, Alvita Teas and Nature's Herbs. Twinlab will in turn support its product lines in GNC stores and independents with a "substantial advertising and promotion budget," the firm says. The campaign will include print and broadcast advertising, consumer promotions and in-store merchandising. Twinlab and GNC already are in a distribution partnership.
