FDA CRISIS MANAGER PENDERGAST MAY SERVE AS INTERIM COMMISSIONER following the upcoming departure of Commissioner David Kessler. Deputy Commissioner/Senior Advisor to the Commissioner Mary Pendergast is understood to be the Administration's choice to serve as acting commissioner pending nomination and confirmation of Kessler's successor. Pendergast's duties as deputy commissioner have included serving as the point person for crisis management.
