AGED GARLIC EXTRACT LOWERS TOTAL SERUM CHOLESTEROL BY 6.1% TO 7% according to results of a mid-size study published in the December issue of the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition by Manfred Steiner, MD/PhD, East Carolina University, et al. The researchers conclude that the "major findings" of the study were a "maximum reduction in total serum cholesterol of 6.1% or 7% in comparison with the average concentration during the placebo administration or baseline evaluation period, respectively."
