IVAX OTCs, VITAMINS COULD GET BOOSTED DISTRIBUTION THROUGH BERGEN MERGER: Ivax products from the company's Major Pharmaceuticals subsidiary, acquired in September 1995, consist of a line of 2,500 vitamins, OTCs and prescription products. Bergen has more than 16,000 managed care, retail chain and independent drug store customers. The proposed merger of Bergen Brunswig and Ivax was announced Nov. 11 by the Orange, Calif. wholesaler and the Miami, Fla. drug firm.
