ENVIRODERM IVYBLOCK OTC POISON IVY PREVENTION LOTION TO BE AVAILABLE on a limited national basis within the next three to six months through health and safety product distributors, the firm said. FDA approved IvyBlock as an OTC skin protectant against poison ivy, poison oak and poison sumac on Aug. 26. The bentoquatam 5% (quaternium-18 bentonite) lotion will be the first FDA-approved topical barrier lotion for the prevention of poison ivy/oak/sumac to reach the market. The firm filed the NDA in September 1994.
