INFANT FORMULA REQUIRED INCLUSION OF DOCOSAHEXAENOIC, ARACHIDONIC ACIDS was recommended by National Institute of Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism Laboratory of Membrane Biochemistry & Biophysics Chief Norman Salem, PhD, at a May 31 open meeting on infant formulas in Bethesda, Md. The Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology's Life Sciences Research Office held the meeting as part of its review of infant formula nutrient specifications and infant nutritional needs, initiated at FDA's request ("The Tan Sheet" March 11, p. 10).
