Executive Summary
FDA ADOPTION OF NDMA VOLUNTARY LABELING PROGRAM FOR PPA DIET AIDS URGED by the Nonprescription Drug Manufacturers Association in May 14 comments to FDA. The comments respond to the agency's Feb. 14 proposal to require warning labels for all phenylpropanolamine-containing OTCs ("The Tan Sheet" Feb. 19, p. 9). Although the agency proposal is similar to the industry's voluntary program for appetite suppressants, NDMA said it has "substantial" concerns with the way the label information would be presented under the proposal.
