Plaque Subcommittee meeting: The FDA Dental Products Panel Plaque Subcommittee will meet June 6-7 to continue its discussion of the alcohol content of mouthwashes and its review of ingredients, including hydrogen peroxide, sodium bicarbonate, the combination of the two ingredients, and sanguinaria. The subcommittee also will begin to discuss sodium lauryl sulfate. A background document on the possible relationship between alcohol content and mouthwashes is being made available by the agency prior to the meeting.
